In a fatal semi-truck accident on Interstate 80 on Tuesday afternoon, one victim was pronounced dead.
Approximately 2:00 p.m. on August 2nd, the crash occurred near mile marker 106.
The driver of a semi-truck went off the bridge for unknown reasons, according to reports. Thus, the truck landed on the ground below, bursting into flames.
As a result of the collision, medics pronounced one victim dead at the scene. Their name and residence have not yet been revealed by authorities.
Currently, an active investigation is being conducted to determine further information. During the cleanup and preliminary duties, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed, but have since reopened.
I extend my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased victim. They are in our thoughts during this difficult time.
